The interesting Istanbul Chess Festival is taking place this week. It includes two open tournaments (A and B) based upon rating. This time, the Qualification Tournament for the Blitz Tournament will be held within the festival, in addition to the open tournaments. Already, 99 players in Open A and 293 in Open B are ready to compete. Top rated are GM Andrey Sumets UKR 2579, GM Konstantine Shanava GEO 2562, GM Oleg Romanishin UKR 2537 and GM Valeriy Neverov UKR 2508.
The total prize fund of the tournaments is USD 14.200 and TRL 1000 for Blitz Tournament. First place 2500 USD, second 2000 USD. For now you can find more details at the tournament website and stay tuned for more at the www.chessblog.com right here.
