World Junior Chess R7: Rombaldini, Girya lead
Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2011
Hi everybody,
Hi everybody,
Don't get confused if we tell you that Axel Rombaldoni of Italy and Olga Girya of Russia are leading at the World Junior Chess Championship 2011. That was the chess news in Round 6 and it still is the same in Round 7! Rombaldoni leads with 6.5/7 while in the girls' section, it is Olga Girya with 6.0 points. There are a host of Indian players in both the sections at second and third places and as a team score they're performing pretty well. You can keep track of all the action at the official website.

Indians are really strong at chess. We're right up there with the Russians and Ukrainians and Armenians :)
