Russian Chess Superfinal R2: Svidler, Morozevich in joint lead with 1.5 points

Hello everyone,


Here is the latest from Moscow: In the second round, Kramnik beat Timofeev, Morozevich beat Grischuk while Nepomniatchchi-Galkin and Svidler-Karjakin games were drawn.

In the standings, Svidler and Morozevich both have 1.5 points, while Karjakin, Nepomniatchchi, Galkin, Kramnik have 1 point each, while Grischuk and Timofeev both have 0.5 points.

The Superfinal of the 64th Russian Championship for men is taking place from August 7-15 (rest day on August 12) at the Botvinnik Central Chess Club in Moscow. It’s an 8-player, single round-robin. The time control is 90 minutes for the first 40 moves followed by 30 minutes to finish the game, with 30 seconds per move from move one. Vladimir Kramnik, Alexander Morozevich, Sergey Karjakin, Alexander Grischuk, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Peter Svidler, Artyom Timofeev and Alexander Galkin are playing.
