Hi everyone,
Did anyone ever tell you that a White King once fell in love with a pawn on c6? If you have studied the Reti Chess Manoeuvre then you would know for sure!
White to play and draw! Impossible it seems! We've worked out the three different variations on the three game players. But think first before running the answers. Happy Chessy Thursday.
Richard Reti (1889-1929). Austrian-Hungarian, later Czechoslovakian chess player, famous chess composer. Puzzle composed in 1921.

I cannot believe that. Impossible. Wow. Thanks for the puzzle. Awesome really. Sorry I am an ordinary chess player. But really if someone can calculate that I find the idea beautiful.

ReplyDeleteYes we often teach that at our club. By the way, we;ve just downloaded all your puzzles at youtube channel chess killer tips great for everyone learning chess on the move. we play it on our ipods. I am not sure if this puzzle is included there?
