European Chess Youth Team Championship 2011 won by Poland

Hi everyone,
Tucked away in Romania - while the world talks about Biel, Ningbo and Dortmund - young chess players of Europe had a lovely European Youth Team Chess Championship U18 for the year 2011.
Poland won the event with Turkey following second. Romania and Hungary tied for the third spot. You can see the final rankings at this link.

The event took place from July 14 to July 22 in Iasi, Romania. Iasi is one of the important political, economic and cultural centres of the province of Moldavia as well as one of the oldest cities in Romania.
The tournament is organised in two categories - open and girls The teams in the open section shall consist of four players, the teams in the girls section shall consist of two female players. Each team is entitled to have one reserve player. You can access the official website at
