I'm sure that one of the players is Mark Tajmanov. The person in the beret is Che Guevara.

Chess clocks with flags on top. The venue is 1966 17th Chess Olympiad La Habana, Cuba. So if Che is watching it must be a board from the Cuban v Belgian tie which decided who progressed in 2nd place from their group to the finals.
My guess its Ortega v Boey. So Boey (Bel) is playing black. Che is next to him and Ortega (Cuba) has his back to the camera. The other two standing are probably one Cuban and one Belgian player who have finished their game.

Che Guevara and Taimanov at the 1964 Capablanca Memorial in Havana

It is probably from the 1964 Capablanca Memorial. There a somewhat famous meeting took place between Taimanov (facing camera) and Che (beret). The three (the third was Smyslov) were discussing a game when the photo was taken.

I think this was the 1966 Olympiad in Havana. Che of course looking on but the players are harder to identify. Mark Taimanov most likely but only the back of the other is visible so difficult. We would have to research all taimanov's opponents in the Olympiad and I'm not geeky enough to do that. Taimanov was allegedly a concert standard pianist as well as a top GM until Fischer wiped him out in the 1971 zonals for the world championship.
