best grandmasters at www.chesspics.com
Congratulations to Grandmaster Ivan Cheparinov for winning the Albena Chess Open 2011. The tournament was held in the Bulgarian town of Albena with more than 270 players and a prize fund of Euros 40,000. Through the tournament, it was GM Maxim Rodshtein from Israel who was leading but his loss to GM Atanas Kolev in the last round pulled him down. Kolev eventually shared the first spot with Cheparinov but the latter won on better tiebreak. GM Avetik Grigoryan, GM Ivan Radulov (72 years old) and IM Petar G Arnaudov shared the third spot.
