Cebu City to attempt World Chess Record for max no. of players in a chess tournament

Hi everyone,
The Cebu City (The Philippines) is going to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest number of participants in a chess tournament on November 19. The record is, at present, held by Krasnoyork City, Russia. You can read the full news report at this link. The current record is with 1,214 players.

Such events are a great way to promote the sport of chess but they should be genuine.
