Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2011

Hello everyone,

at www.chesspics.com
Here's wishing you a belated Father's Day for last Sunday with a sweet interview with World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand as given to Indian publication Mumbai Mirror.

Will he expect his son to follow his father's footsteps? Anand says, "I will teach him chess and get him interested in lots of other things too. Let him take a decision when he's older." His wife empasises that they don't want to foster those expectations on the child. Aruna adds, "Sports is a demanding career. What I what him to learn from his father is how to be humble. And from me, to not to be too much of a dreamer and be practical."

You can read more about Anand and Aruna and how they are managing their new parenthood, changes in their lifestyle and the great joy at the new entrant in their family - their just-about-two month old son Akhil - at this link.
