According to a news update by www.chessdom.com Alexei Shirov (2721) has replaced Vugar Gashimov for the Biel 2011 Chess Tournament. The tournament will take place from July 18 - 29 in Switzerland.

According to a news update by www.chessdom.com Alexei Shirov (2721) has replaced Vugar Gashimov for the Biel 2011 Chess Tournament. The tournament will take place from July 18 - 29 in Switzerland.
The field now includes Magnus Carlsen (NOR, 2815), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (FRA, 2731), Fabiano Caruana (ITA, 2714) Alexander Morozevich (RUS, 2694) and Yannick Pelletier (SUI, 2587). Gashimov has to join the Azerbaijan chess team to take part in the World Team Chess Championship.
