Here is the latest chess news from Romania with some of the world's best players. Vassily Ivanchuk and Magnus Carlsen have begun the Medias Kings Chess Tournament 2011 with wins. While Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu and Sergey Karjakin decided to draw their game. This was the action in the first round.

Here is the latest chess news from Romania with some of the world's best players. Vassily Ivanchuk and Magnus Carlsen have begun the Medias Kings Chess Tournament 2011 with wins. While Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu and Sergey Karjakin decided to draw their game. This was the action in the first round.
For those joining us late, we're talking about the Kings Tournament that is taking place from June 11-21 at the Natural Gas Documentation and Information Centre in Medias, Romania. Magnus Carlsen, Vassily Ivanchuk, Sergey Karjakin, Hikaru Nakamura, Teimour Radjabov and Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu are playing the double round-robin with one rest day after five rounds. Games start 15.30 local time (14.30 CET).
