86th Paris Chess Championship from July 2-10

Hi everyone,

Anyone planning a chess holiday in Paris?

The 86th Paris Chess Championship is set to take place from July 2-10 at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin, 82 avenue Georges Lafont 75016 Paris. The Championship will be played in 4 Groups and is open to all players of FIDE federations.

- FIDE Open: 9 rounds with rating above 2200
- A Open: 9 rounds with rating from 1800 to 2300
- B Open: 9 rounds with rating from 1400 to 1900
- C Open: 9 rounds with rating under 1500

Rate of play in all tournaments : Fischer 90 min 40 moves + 30 min + 30s/move from the first move
The title of Champion de Paris Ile-de-France 2011 will be given to the best member of a club from the Île de France League of the 2010-2011 season.


According to the organisers, 496 players have already been registered to take participation. Top rated are GM Sergey Fedorchuk UKR 2654, GM Yuniesky Quesada CUB 2626, GM Alberto David LUX 2593, GM Mladen Palac CRO 2583, GM Ruben Felgaer ARG 2570, GM Robert Zelcic CRO 2557, GM Namig Guliyev AZE 2554, GM Magesh Panchanathan IND 2539, GM Andrei Shchekachev FRA 2528, GM S. Sethuraman IND 2527.
