Women's chess masters in China: Yifan wins

Hi everyone,

Grandmaster Hou Yifan - the reigning women's world champion - has won the first women's chess masters in Wuxi, China. She notched up 7 points out of 9 rounds with second place going to Shen Yang and Ju Wenjun.



Final standings:
1. Hou Yifan - 7 points out of 9
2-3. Shen Yang, Ju Wenjun - 6
4-5. Wang Yu A, Huang Qian - at 05.5
6-7. Gu Xiaobing Ding Yixin - 4
8. Zhang Xiaowen - 3.5
9. Tan Zhongyi - 3
10. Zhao Xue - 2.5.


The first Chinese women chess grandmasters tournament was held from April 16 to 24 with ten strong women chess players of China. The event was a round robin with time controls of 90 minutes for the entire game plus a 30 second increment for each move. Draw offers were only allowed with the permission of the chief arbiter and will only be granted in theoretically drawn positions. You can access the official website.
