WIM Galina Strutinskaya has become the European Women's Rapid Chess Champion while the corresponding title in the Open Section goes to GM Viktor Kupreichik on tie-breaks. A salute to all these seniors.

The 11th European Senior Chess Rapid Championship was played on 4th and 5th April in Courmayeur, Aosta Valley - Italy. 35 players took participation in the warm-up event before the European Senior Championship that starts tomorrow at the same venue.
Five players shared the first place with 6.5 points each but GM Viktor Kupreichik was declared winner on best tiebreak. Incidentally, he was the defending champion from last year in Thessaloniki. You can find more details and photos at the official website.
