World No. 2 Magnus Carlsen
There is news that World No. 2 Magnus Carlsen has agreed to take part in Biel Chess Festival 2011. Carlsen had won the 40th edition of the tournament in 2007. He had played in Biel his first ever GM tournament in 2005 at the age of 14. The GM section will include six players fighting it out on a double round robin basis.
Possibly the tournament takes place from July 16. Vugar Gashimov is the other player who has already confirmed his participation. Before that, Magnus Carlsen is likely to play in the Kings Tournament, Medias from June 11-22. Other participants expected in the event are Vassily Ivanchuk, Teimour Radjabov, Hikaru Nakamura, Sergei Karjakin, Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu.
