Six players in joint lead at Georgy Agzamov Chess Memorial after R7


Hi everyone,

The 5th International Chess Tournament, dedicated to the memory of Georgy Agzamov, the first grandmaster of Uzbekistan, is currently ongoing at the Central House of Officers of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tashkent.


You remember right? The tournament concludes on 26th March and there follows a rapid match between the reigning World Champion Viswanathan Anand and the 17th World Champion Rustam Kasimdzhanov.

For now, here are the standings after Round 7.

    Quite a hectic schedule for Anand. Guess he is going there right from Amber and now he lives in India. When I look at your schedule or Kasparov's or Carlsen's - wow. It's really tough being a champion. Thanks for all you do to promote chess Alexandra.
