Elina Danielian 1.5 points ahead of others at sixth women's chess grand prix

Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2011

Hi everyone,

One thing seems pretty clear for now. Elina Danielian is supposedly going to run away with the sixth Women's Chess Grand Prix currently on in Doha, Qatar.

Girls from the chess club in Qatar kibitz the game between Humpy Koneru and Maia Chiburdanidze.

She has a comfortable 1.5 lead over the others which include five straight wins and a draw with fellow Armenian player Lilit Mkrtchian.
