Hello Everyone,
Congratulations to WGM Atousa Pourkashiyan for winning the 2011 Iran Chess Championship for Women. The event was organized from January 7 to 15 with 10 players competing in a round-robin format.

As luck would have it, the defending champion WFM Ghazal Hakimifard was leading up to the eighth round but lost to WFM Mitra HejaziPour and the title.
On the other side, WGM Atousa Pourkashiyan, winner of the Asian Women's Chess Championship 2010 eventually held on with steady play to win the title. Ghazal Hakimifard was second and WIM Shayesteh Ghaderpour finished third.
