Chess blog for latest news and trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2011

Hi everybody,

Round 10 at the Tata Steel Super-GM Chess Tournament 2011 in Wijk aan Zee is going to be remembered for several reasons -

  • Vishy Anand beating Alexeis Shirov and Hikaru Nakamura beating Maxime Vachier-Lagrave to get back into joint lead
  • Overnight joint leader Vladimir Kramnik slipping back a bit with Jan Smeets holding him to a draw
  • Overnight joint leader Magnus Carlsen showing how to best lose a complicated game to Russian Men's Champion Ian Nepomniachtchi.
