Hi Everybody,
Grandmaster Alexander Areshchenko has taken the lead with after the ninth round at the 9th Parsvnath International Open Chess Tournament in the capital city of India - New Delhi. He lived up to his top-seed billing by defeating Grandmaster Mikhailo Oleksienko. Meanwhile, other joint leaders from the eighth round drew their games - Grandmaster Parimarjan Negi with Yuriy Kuzubov of Ukraine and Slovenian Grandmaster Lenic Luka with Grandmaster S Kidambi.
Negi, Kuzubov, Lenic and Kidambi along with Grandmaster Henrik Danielsen of Iceland are in joint second spot half a point behind the leader. Two more rounds are to be played in the tournament.
Other important results of the round included International Master Sahaj Grover drawing with Grandmaster Evgeny Postny of Israel, former world junior champion Abhijeet Gupta drawing with Grandmaster R R Laxman.and International Master Shyam Nikil drawing with Grandmaster Konstantin Chernyshov of Russia.
