Chess blog for latest news and trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2011
Hi Everybody,
Grandmasters Areshchenko and Kuzubov are in joint lead after 10 rounds at the 9th Parsvnath International Chess Tournament being held in New Delhi, India. The Ukrainians Alexander Areshchenko (top seed) and Yuriy Kuzubov have 8.5 points with one round to go.
Overnight sole leader Areshchenko had to settle for a draw against Slovenian Grandmaster Lenic Luka in a 102-move match while Kuzubov beat Indian Grandmaster S Kidambi to join Areshchenko in the lead.
In joint third place is Grandmaster Parimarjan Negi who drew with Grandmaster Henrik Danielsen of Iceland.
A young player CRG Krishna beat Ukrainian Grandmaster Yaroslav Zherebukh. During the match, Zherebukh complained against Krishna about possible usage of electronic device and Arbiters frisked Krishna in presence of his rival and nothing suspicious was found. Later Zherebukh apologized to Krishna.

I am amused that some important names are missing from this list. Maybe they don't have the courage to join the group or are too caught up in their own individual career plans. But everyone should speak up - or take a stand - either side. Ah well... you cannot find a Carlsen everywhere.
