GM Alexander Onischuk wins St Louis Thanksgiving Open

Hello Everyone,

The Thanksgiving Open organised by the St Louis Chess Club had an impressive participants' list. In the end, GM Alexander Onishchuk tied for first with GM Gregory Kaidanov, GM Yuri Shulman and GM Dmitry Gurevich but won on tie-break.

At second place were - GM Nigel Short, GM Ray Robson and John Veech!

GM Shulman played steadily throughout the tournament while GM Kaidanov fought back after a Round 2 against club player Kevin Cao. Kaidanov beat Viktorija Ni in round three, Jialin Ding in round four and GM Ray Robson in round five to tie for the first.

Final standings:
1-4. GM Alexander Onischuk, GM Yuri Shulman, GM Gregory Kaidanov and GM Dmitry Gurevich - 5.0/6
5-7. GM Nigel Short, GM Ray Robson and John Veech - 4.5 etc (74 players)
