Talented Nazi holds on to lead at Russian Women's Superfinal Chess after 7 rounds

Hello Everyone,

More chess news from the beautiful city of Moscow. The seventeen-year-old talented Nazi Paikidze continues to lead at the Russian Women's Superfinal after seven rounds. Meanwhile, here are the standings after seven rounds.

1. Paikidze - 5,
2-3. Pogonina, Galliamova - 4.5;
4-6. Kosteniuk, N. Kosintseva, T. Kosintseva 7. Nebolsina - 3.5,
8-9. Shadrin, Bodnaruk - 3,
10-11. Olga, Gunina - 2.5
12. Matveeva - 1.5


Russian women championship Superfinal is the round robin final stage of the national championship. It is held in Moscow from November 15 to 27. The prize fund of the tournament that brought in all the best players in the country, including the entire national team, is 1.4 million rubles (around 35 thousand Euros) with 400 thousand rubles (around 10.000 Euro) going to the winner.

The Russian chess federation is the organizer, with the generous support by the sponsors “Gazprom”, “Sberbank”, “Almaz-Antei”, and “E4 Group”. The time control is 40 moves for 90 minutes followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game and a 30-second increment as of move one.

    Hi folks, I've been comparing some of these games of the Russian superfinal with those played by some of the best Russian men chess players. We're preparing a special lecture for our chess club. And, boy, these games are really strong.

    Talk of photos check out the rest of chesspics.com and russiachess.org albums. I often go to chesspics for an evening stroll (!!!). There are cute photos of the kid Carlsen there too. But all the women chess players are G.O.O.D.
