The hand-crafted Napoleon Chess Set.
Hello Everyone,
Do you know what Napoleon gave to Josephine as a wedding present? A locket inscribed with the words 'To Destiny'! Isn't it something that you would say every single time you sit down for a game of chess?
Every single chess game is a mystery that unfolds before you. No matter how deep you know the variations, no matter who your opponent is, you just never know what's going to happen. It's always 'To Destiny'!
So, how about trying the Napoleon Chess Set as a special indulgence?
We found this very nice hand-decorated Napoleon Chess set made in brass doing the rounds of the Internet.
Napoleon and his military conquests have long been a favorite subject for theme chess sets. Imported from Italy, this beautiful chess set from Italfama renders Napoleon Bonaparte, his wife Josephine, and other key elements of his French army. This chess set is also available in a plain brass and nickel-plated version. Chess Set Specifications Features include King Height: 4", felt pad etc.
We also found a video of a ceramic Napoleon chess set. It will thrill you.
The Battle of Waterloo is played out on a contemporaneous chessboard from the Geffrye Museum's collection. 'Extreme Chess' was produced by a group of young people on a film-making project faciliitated by Chocolate Films at the Geffrye Museum. It is one of the first manifestations of the Geffrye Museum's London World City: Home strand of the 'Stories Of The World' scheme (part of the Cultural Olympiad).
Real cool video.
While on the subject, here is a chess game too. You can run the moves in our pgnplayer or watch in flash below.
