Chess at its 'highest' in Europe.
This exquisite chess set is hand made in a limited edition. The blown
glass pieces are filled with light and dark grappa (a grape-based brandy), a gift from one of the sponsors, the distillery Mazzetti.
GM Igor Naumkin has won what is possibly the highest tournament in Europe!
The Russian Grandmaster scored a good 7.5 points in the first International Livigno Chess Open. Here is the official website and you can find a fantastic report with lots of photos at www.chessbase.com.
The Alpine town of Livigno is located at an altitude of 1,816 meters Italy.
