India take on Uzbekistan at the Asian Games.

Four teams are in joint lead in the men's section after the second day of the Team Chess Championship at the 16th Asian Games being held in Guangzhou, China. These are China, India, Vietnam and Kazakhstan. In the women's section, three teams are in joint lead.
Top seed China beat the Philippines 3:1, India blanked Uzbekistan 4:0, Vietnam crushed Iran 3.5:0.5 and Kazhakstan edged Qatar 2.5:1.5. Scoring for China were Zhou Jianchou and Ni Hua on the bottom two boards while Wang Yue and Bu Xiagzhi drew in the top two boards.
In the women's section, China, India and Vietnam won their games to be on top with 4 match points each. China defeated Iran 3:1 with Hou Yifan and Huang Qian winning their games while the other two boards were drawn.
A total of 17 teams have entered the competition in the men's section and 12 in the women's section with China and India being the first and second seeds in both sections.
The Championship will be held in two phases. Phase one, Preliminaries, will be seven round Swiss to determine the four qualifiers for the semifinals. Each team's place in order of classification shall be decided by the number of Match points it has scored.
Phase two will be Semifinals. Qualifiers will be paired by their Preliminaries ranking. Match A will be between 1st and 4th and Match B will be between 2nd and 3rd. The two winners shall play the finals on November 26th for gold and silver medals while the other two will play for the bronze.
