Will chess make it to Toy Hall of Fame?
Alexandra Kosteniuk's Chess News & Trivia (c) 2010
Hi Everybody,
Do you know how many people across the world play chess? Wikipedia confirms that millions across the world play chess. We think so too. Chess is so cool.
But will that help chess qualify for the Toy Hall of Fame? We will have to wait and see.
According to the Rochester Business Journal, Cabbage Patch Kids, Hot Wheels and chess are among 12 finalists vying for induction in the 2010 class of the National Toy Hall of Fame located at the Strong National Museum of Play.
The winners will be announced on November 4. The selection committee has received thousands of nominations. The panel will eventually pick two winners.
The other nominees include: the dollhouse, dominoes, Dungeons & Dragons, The Game of Life, Lite Brite, Magic 8 Ball, playing cards, the pogo stick and Rubik’s Cube.
Let's cheer for chess.
