A nice view of Nanjing
Hello Everyone,
The chess action is amazing this October - rather this year-end. We've just finished with the Bilbao Final Chess Masters in Spain and it's time to book our tickets for the Nanjing Super Chess Tournament that begins tomorrow - Monday, October 18. It will last till October 30.
The top players in this round robin event include Viswanathan Anand, Veselin Topalov, Magnus Carlsen, Vugar Gashimov, Wang Yue, and Etienne Bacrot. This makes the event a Category 21 with an average rating of 2766 making it category XXI event.
Nanjing is located in the lower Yangtze River drainage basin and is one of China's most important commercial cities. Over the last two years it has developed as a chess centre too.
