Nanjing Chess Tournament begins: Carlsen beats Bacrot

Hello Everyone,

The Nanjing Super Chess Tournament has begun. It is with the classical format of 10 rounds with six players unlike the recent Bilbao round-robin event.

First round pairings were as follows:
  • Anand - Wang Yue
  • Carlsen - Bacrot
  • Topalov - Gashimov

Carlsen got his win while Anand and Wang Yue struggled it out to a draw. Topalov and Gashimov too called a draw.
