Endgame magic: Can you find the idea?
Chess news and chess trivia blog (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2010
Hello Everyone,
Time for some endgame ideas. It's the ideas behind our calculations that give our chess its beauty. That is also why we humans are different from computers.
Here is a simple endgame for you. Don't rush off calculating right away. Figure out the idea first and then you will see how the calculations fall in place like pieces made to fit. Enjoy.

It's a forced line ... I verified it with Fritz, it looks like White might have alternative lines, but they all go bust, Quite Elegant though when you see what our Queen has cooked up in her chess kitched.
hmmm, maybe cooked wasn't the best choice of words. Oh well. BB.
