Chocolate chess: Yum twice over
Hello Everyone,
If you love chocolates and chess, you'll go crazy with joy at this tournament! Credit the idea to the Italians.
Know where Villa Foscarini Rossi in Stra, along the Riviera del Brenta, is? It is between Padua and Venice in Italy. That's where you'll have to head for this 'sweet' tournament. The tournament is going to be organised for the ninth time there. It is sponsored by the City of Stra and conceived and organized by Veneto Coffee, in collaboration with the Chess Club Padovano.
More than 250 children and adults are expected to participate and 'eat' their opponent's pieces made in pure Valhrona - from chocolate Venetian Alvaro Bido.
For the entire weekend there will be chocolate artisans with their best products for sale, shows, and a themed dinner at the restaurant Villa Fini. The theme for this year's tasting will be pralines and bars in 'Il Caffe'. The festival will also include guided tastings and meetings with leading Italian chocolatiers, including Danilo Freguja. Workshops for children and adults will also be organised. There's also going to be a live chess game show.
Throughout the event, a mysterious lady with the dress of chocolate will be going around the villa making friends. Watch out!
