Chess game of quick Queens!

Alexandra Kosteniuk's Chess News & Trivia (c) 2010

Hello Everyone,

How many moves into a game do you think you can manage to promote a pawn to a Queen? We mean in a regular game with regular moves and no trick moves? Pretty long... right? Sometimes, you may even have to wait till the endgame to actually promote a pawn. Well! Here is an interesting game and it seems both players were in a real hurry to promote their pawns to Queens.

The result: Four Queens on the board by Move 7. Enjoy the game.

You can run the moves in our pgnplayer or watch in flash below.

  1. Not Meaning to be rude, Do you think its a real game?
Or something the contestants scripted in advance?
I know this has happened in the states in some lesser events
but .. a national championship? I wonder ... or perhaps it
was a subtle form of protest? All speculation, but it seems to odd to me.

    Blessings, BB.
