Hello Everyone,
The intense 39th Chess Olympiad is on a one-day break after five rounds in Khanty-Mansiysk. At the five-round mark, in the open section, only three countries have a perfect score of winning all their matches. These are Armenia, Georgia and Hungary. In the women's section, Ukraine and Russia 1 lead with a perfect score. You can view the complete standings here.
The Olympiad is being held from September 19 to October 4.
September 26 is also the National Jogging Day in Russia. It is better known as 'Nations Cross'. As part of the morning celebrations a special one km race was run in the morning from the Ice Palace square. Local citizens, guests and participants took part in the race. There was also a separate professional race. You can read more about it at the official website.
With six more rounds to go plenty of action is in store and you can keep track of it at the official website apart from a host of news and features websites.
