Nadezhda Kosintseva's nice performance at Biel Masters Open Chess Tournament

IM Nadezhda Kosintseva: On her way to GM title

Hello Everyone!

While you were following the Biel Young Masters Tournament did you check the Biel Open Masters also?

The 43rd edition of the annual Biel Chess Festival which took place in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, saw the Fabiano Caruana win the Young Grandmasters tournament. There were two opens also on the occasion. The first was the Master Tournament for players with a FIDE or Swiss rating over 2000. The event attracted 112 players, including 17 grandmasters, and 14 international masters, and was won by the Elo favorite, Russian GM Alexander Riazantsev, 2682, on tiebreak, ahead of six others.

International master Nadezhda Kosintseva, 2551, had an excellent tournament, coming in second, and scoring a grandmaster norm in the process. In third place, was German GM Leonid Kritz, 2618.

Here is a nice game by Nadezhda. You can run it in the pgnplayer or check it out in the flash player below.
