Interesting chess at Mukachevo Classic Match 2010
A musical presentation at the opening ceremony.
Hello Everyone,
They call it the Mukachevo Classic Match. It is held ever year between a top grandmaster from Ukraine and a foreign player. The idea is supported by Ukrainian/German industrialist Josef Resch who is the founder of the UEP chess promotion company. This company also organised the Anand-Kramnik match in Bonn in 2008.
Mukachevo or Mukacheve (Ukrainian: Мукачево, Мукачеве;) is located in the valley of the Liatorytsia river in the Zakarpattia Oblast (province), in south-western Ukraine.
The Third Mukachevo classic is being held this year between Zahar Efimenko, 2689, of Ukraine and GM Arkadij Naiditsch, 2684 of Germany. After two rounds the German top player is leading 1.5 to 0.5. He won the second round game while the first round was a draw.
Here is the game from the second round. You can run it through our pgnplayer or watch in flash below.
