Dortmund Sparkassen Chess: Ponomariov back in lead after five rounds


Ruslan Ponomariov: Back in lead at Dortmund

Hello Everyone,

Ruslan Ponomariov regained his lead at the Dortmund Sparkassen Chess Meeting after beating Shakhriyar Mamedyarov in the fifth round.

Vladimir Kramnik won his first game in the tournament with white against Arkadij Naiditsch. Peter Leko played a sober Caro-Kann Advance variation against Le Quang Liem. Leko lost eventually thanks to a blunder. Ruslan Ponomariov found a slight advantage as White against Mamedyarov and managed to regain the lead.
