Ponomariov won the Dortmund Sparkassen Chess Meet after drawing his last round game with the Vietnamese Le Quang Liem who came second in the tournament.
The 38th edition of the tournament was held from July 15 to July 25 in Dortmund, Dortmund, Germany. It was a six-player round robin with Vladimir Kramnik being the defending champion from last year. What made the event exciting was the no-draw offer rule. You can check the official website for more details and photos.
