Smeets & Peng crowned Dutch National Chess Champions

Jan Smeets and Zhaoqin Peng have won the 2010 Dutch Championship. This is the 12th Dutch National Chess title for Zhaoqin Peng! Peng won the championship with a round to spare. Congratulations!

The Dutch Championship was held in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, from June 11-20. Jan Smeets finished first with a 6.5/9 score, ahead of defending champion Anish Giri. Giri had gone down fighting to six-time title winner Van Wely in the eighth round.
