Carlsen leads in Kings Chess Tournament with nice win

Hello Everyone!

Grandmaster Magnus Carlsen, after a dull beginning, is leading by half a point after five rounds at the Kings Tournament in Medias, Romania. The other day he surprised everyone by uncorking the Kings Gambit that is rarely played at top-level chess these days.

In the fifth round the FIDE No. 1 defeated Nisipeanu with Black. In other matches, Gelfand won against Ponomariov while Wang Yue and Radjabov drew. The 4th Kings Tournament, based on a double round-robin format, will conclude on June 25.

Here is the nice game between Nisipeanu and Carlsen. You can run the game in our pgnplayer or try the flashplayer below. You can also check the official website here.
