Czech Coal Chess Match: Ladies versus Veterans
From the 28th of November till the 5th December 2009 in Marianske Lazne, at the Cristal Palace Hotel in the Czech Republic, a very interesting match is taking place. Chess legends (Viktor Korchnoi, Jan Timman, Robert Hübner and Vlastimil Hort) are playing against young grandmistresses (Humpy Koneru, Anna Muzychuk, Katerina Lahno and Jana Jackova) in the two-round scheveningen match „Lasses and Old Timer” - Czech Coal Chess Match 2009.
The time control of the games is 90 minutes for 40 moves with an additional 30 minutes till the end of the game and 30 seconds will be added for each completed move. The tournament is held by the civic association Prague Chess Society.
After 4 rounds I am glad to report that the ladies are leading by 9,5 to 6,5 . Humpy Koneru and Anna Muzychuk have 3 points out of 4. The second half of the tournament will start tomorrow, 4 more rounds to go.
